ADHD

From the Desk of Dr. Roy Picard, D.C.:

Dear Parent,

Has your child been diagnosed, or do you suspect that they may have:

  • ADD
  • Autism
  • Tourette’s
  • ADHD
  • Asperger’s
  • Hyperactivity

Social problems

  • Are they lacking good social judgment or social interaction?
  • Do they have difficulties with nonverbal communication?

Academic problems

  • Are they suffering with poor grades?
  • Does your child have difficulties with listening comprehension, spelling, or math calculations?

Focus problems

  • Does your child lack focus or have difficulties with getting easily side tracked?

Behavioral problems

  • Does your child have inappropriate outbursts?
  • Do they act out impulsively with little to no restraint?

Coordination problems

  • Do you notice that your child struggles with balance and/or coordination?

Does your child have either an underactive or overactive response to:

  • Sound
  • Touch
  • Light
  • Smell
  • Taste

Does your child have, or did they experience a developmental delay in any of the following:

  • Speech – number of words spoken at 2 years of age, 3 years of age
  • Motor – at what age did they begin to crawl, sit, stand, walk
  • Social – at what age did they respond to facial gestures, began playing with other kids
  • Emotional – at what age did they stop crying when mom or dad would leave, play peek-a-boo, play patty cake, etc.

Why is your child suffering?

The human brain can be divided into a right and left hemisphere, as well as into different smaller sections and lobes. Research in Neuroscience demonstrates that when one or more areas of the brain are not working in conjunction with the rest of the brain and nerve system, symptoms associated with such conditions as ADHD, Tourette’s, Asperger’s, ADD, and Autism, as well as the other mentioned problems and delays, can result. When the brain is restored to a more balanced manner, in which the hemispheres and different sections of the brain are working in a more coordinated manner, then optimal physical, mental, social, emotional, and academic function can be restored for that individual.

How I can help these children?

By using specific, noninvasive neurological testing, I am able to determine the areas of the brain that require specific, brain-based therapies, which will bring your child’s brain to function in a more synchronized manner!

Not only do I work to balance brain function, but it is critical to know whether the child’s brain is receiving the necessary fuel to allow the brain and nerve system to function at its optimal level. Without proper fuel to the brain, there will be less than optimal physical, mental, social, emotional, and academic performance obtained. Specific metabolic testing is available to determine if optimal nutrition is being delivered to the brain, depending on the age of the child.

Specific testing is available to determine if certain foods are causing distress to the brain and nerve system. Obviously, this is critical in restoring function to the brain and nerve system. Sensitivity testing for different foods is available to further enhance brain function.

If you are tired of watching your child suffer, if you are concerned with the medications that have been recommended, if you are simply sick and tired of not getting answers as to what needs to be done, then it is important that you take action. • Discuss what it is that I do
  • Show you around the office and the specific equipment used
  • Speak with your child
